Welcome to Bright Ideas 2007

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the Bright-Ideas-2007 blog. I know that if I don't have a container in which to store my own bright ideas, they evaporate all too quickly. I'm hoping that this blog becomes a repository for our best thinking and bright ideas about such divergent topics as keynote speakers and conference structures.

I'm establishing a few different lines of conversation that I hope will help us make more productive use of our face-to-face meeting time on Wednesday, June 14 (4-6 PM, hearty snacks provided). Some of the decisions that we will need to make at that meeting are time sensitive, so having some advance "think-time" might scaffold our ability to make rapid decisions.

Thanks so much for agreeing to serve on the BI Steering Committee. Not only do "many hands make light work," but as James Surowieck suggests in THE WISDOM OF CROWD, we will also probably make better decisions by working as an "informed crowd."
